Maybe You'll Never Understand A picture diary by hilarbees
Perhaps it’s impossible to wear an identity without becoming what you pretend to be. – Valentine Wiggin [Orson Scott Card], Ender’s Game
This is the essence of the transaction between storyteller and audience. The ‘true’ story is not the one that exists in my mind; it is certainly not the written words on the bound paper that you hold in your hands. The story in my mind is nothing but a hope; the text of the story is the tool I create in order to try to make that hope a reality. The story itself, the true story, is the one that the audience members create in their minds, guided and shaped by my text, but then transformed, elucidated, expanded, edited and clarified by their own experience, their own desires, their own hopes and fears.

Orson Scott Card.

This is one of my favorite quotes. Ever.

Stress of Life

Why is it so hard just to get through the day? I mean, this isn’t what life should be like. We work so we have money to live. I hate commercialism, because it’s such an elaborate trap. Mankind will never be happy at this rate. Men can’t lead other men to anything worthwhile. The blind are leading the blind.
